MIMIC PANELS AND BUS
- A Mimic Panel is a direct or approximate schematic representation used by a broad sector of industries in a variety of applications. Mimic Panels provide a representation of the physical layout or process that the panel will control. This type of panel is beneficial when needing to quickly view a system from a central control room.
Mimic panels are commonly used in cement plants, railways, petrol-chemical plants, public utilities, foundries, distribution centers, power generation stations, laboratories, etc.
- Mimic Bus is a single line drawing depicted usually on the exterior of switchgear or control panel assemblies, that depicts the schematic connections and electrical components of a particular system. It is particularly useful for identifying where specific components are located when in need of repair. Mimic Bus is utilized by a broad sector of industries for a variety of applications.

Printed Mimic Panels and Bus
- BW Industrial Graphics specializes in the manufacturing of printed mimic panels and bus. Our process utilizes 10mil polycarbonate which can be reverse printed in customized colors, sizes and symbols to suit any application. All printed panels and bus are backed with an Industrial “peel & Stick” adhesive backer for easy installation.
Engraved Mimic Panels and Bus
- BW Industrial Graphics also offers traditional mimic panels and bus. Manufactured from 1/16” or 1/8” plastic, this method is usually specified for government or military projects. It is also used to match existing switchgear originally produced in this manner. In the past, mimic bus was cut from plastic stock and screwed directly onto the panel. Industrial strength adhesives are now applied to the backside of mimic bus, eliminating the need for drilling mounting holes.
